Ava DuVernay and Autumn Riley

Ava DuVernay, born August 24, 1972 in Long Beach California. DuVernay received encouragement from Aunt Denise as an infant. The aunt who was a night shift nurse, let her study literature for art as well as theater during daylight hours. She showed DuVernay the 1961 movie West Side Story and DuVernay was captivated by it. DuVernay learnt by doing the art of being a good instrument to engage in activism. DuVernay developed a social aware through her mother. DuVernay resided in Compton throughout her childhood, but she was able to spend summers with the extended family of her father in Lowndes County Alabama. DuVernay's father recalled watching the historical civil rights marches across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in the neighboring town of Selma Alabama. DuVernay visited Selma during the summer months and was in awe of the idea to film about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In the year 1990, DuVernay graduated from Saint Joseph High School in Lakewood California. Following graduation, she attended an institution called the University of California Los Angeles which she graduated with certificates in English as well as African American studies. While she was still studying, DuVernay began to consider producing for the broadcast media. She began her career as an intern at CBS News, during the O.J. Simpson trial. DuVernay remembers being given the task of watching the house and examining the trash from one of juries. Her tasks left her disappointed in journalism, so she made the decision to go into the field of publicity. DuVernay started her career as a junior public relations assistant in a tiny film studio, right after graduating from college. In this role, she launched her own company for public relations named The DuVernay Agency in 1999. In addition to PR, the company has also launched lifestyle networks as well as advertising campaigns such as The Urban Beauty Collective. Autumn Riley.............................Autumn Riley was born in Los Angeles United States. Autumn Riley is born with the birth astrological sign.
